What is it?

The Pitch your Porch (PYP) Grant Program is designed to assist Property and business owners in rehabilitating the commercial facades of their buildings for the purpose of creating a visual impact throughout Girard.  

Goal

The goal is to provide you with the recourses needed to improve your business.

Eligibility & Eligible Improvements

Eligibility: 

- Must be a for profit business

- Must be within the USD 248 district lines 

- Must be current on BOTH County & State tax liabilities 

Improvements: 

- Cleaning, prep & painting of exterior walls and trim

- Cleaning, re-pointing of brick & other masonry

- Installation of siding materials 

- Outdoor dining, fencing, trashcan, and signage 

- Replacement of windows, doors, and framing 

- Removal/installation of awnings, canopies, or shutters

- Accent lighting, cornices, gutters, or down spouts 


Awards

$5,000 will be awarded to one business (subject to change.) Owners can spend more than $5,000 on the project but the grant will only match $5,000. Interested owners must fill out the application before the deadline on September 1st.

Applications will be reviewed by the PYP Grant Review committee to determine eligibility and to make sure the application meets all applicable design guidelines. Applicants must also adhere to all requirements prescribed by the city and county codes. Applicants can use visual aids, PowerPoint presentations, etc.  during their pitch.
